Overview

The owner of AFC Richmond, a football club, wants to hire a bad coach for his team. He actually wants to destroy the club to get back at his ex-wife, who loves it. So he chooses Ted Lasso, a football teacher who has never worked with professional football teams, as the new head coach of the team. In spite of what everyone thought, Ted's hard work, strong character, and great sense of fun get everyone's attention.

Fans of Ted Lasso, a show that looks like a sports show, have loved the show's social and psychological aspects, especially the character of Ted Lasso. In fact, the actors from the show were called to the White House to give a speech about mental wellness. Deeply, the show is about working together and caring about others, which is an idea that many businesses also care about. Ted Lasso's character skills and the love and closeness he brings to the team can bring together people with different styles and ideas into a caring group, which is exactly what each manager and supervisor should do. This show does a good job of showing how people feed off of each other's minds and have direct effects on each other, especially how an excellent manager can change people's minds.

Leadership and management techniques

In the following, we are going to introduce some of Ted's personality traits that made him successful in this post:

Courage means trying new things

Ted is a great example of someone who tries new things. He tries to get the most out of his team by putting players in places that aren't their specialty, trying new strategies, and hiring new coaches. This really does mean bravery.

Don't be limited! Ideas come from everywhere

Ted gets along with everyone instantly and listens to them very well. He doesn't even ignore the servant's advice about how to play.  With his trust, Ted was able to turn a servant into a coach, who he later used in his own staff.

Attention to detail

Ted Lasso's attention to detail can be noticed in numerous of ways. For example, he remembered specific details about people, was precise in constructing the dressing room, or the sweets he baked for his boss.

A leader's courage inspires trust

First, Ted was considered a newcomer in the league and even in the issue of sports, so his selection as the head coach faced many doubts and the players and his boss did not trust him. But in the end, his bravery in leadership was able to convince everyone to trust him.

Learn from mistakes and move forward

Like all of us, Ted is not a perfect person and he makes many mistakes, but the important thing is that he never gives up, never backs down, and keeps going strong. Also, the mistakes of others cannot disappoint him. Unlike most weak people, Ted doesn't spend his time thinking about the past, instead we see that he chooses to live and strive in the present.

Support builds confidence

Ted, as a head coach, must assist others despite his lack of understanding of the sport. He needs to mentally develop his coaching staff and players so that they may be confident.

Accepting flaws is a strength, not a weakness

Ted Lasso sometimes hides the things that hurt him because they prevent him from performing at his best. Brene Brown frequently discusses the idea that Ted Lasso's life is defined by acceptance of flaws.

Be honest with those you lead

Ted is very honest about the situation the team is in, even when it comes to his own problems. He is honest about the things he and other staff members do wrong and what improvements the team needs.

Know your goal

Ted knows that training young players is the best thing he can do for his team. He knows that the only way to build a big and strong team is to help newcomers grow up and become responsible men.

Apologize

It's simple to say, but hard to do in real life. Ted will always say sorry, whether he feels bad about it or proud of himself. This is one of the things that people love and admire about him.

Leaders are not responsible for everything

Ted is good at organizing things, but he doesn't do it all the time, and he makes everyone responsible for their own work.

Look at obstacles as opportunities

Ted's lack of familiarity with athletics is a significant challenge, but it can also be an opportunity to think differently. Accepting that he doesn't know much about the subject could lead to new ideas and surprising wins in the sports world.

All deserve your attention

Remember the story of the servant man who later became one of the coaches. Most of us try to choose the people we are most comfortable with in every group and organization and focus our attention on only these few people. But a real leader must care for everyone at the same time.

Sometimes be a goldfish

If you make a mistake, don't let them judge you by that. Like a goldfish, forget about it in 10 seconds. Leave the past behind to succeed in the present.

These tips were just some of the techniques that a successful manager or leader needs to be able to make progress in his work. Paying attention to and applying these tips can make you a great leader and manager whose employees love him and businesses are dying to have him.
